CHILDREN'S DEFENDO (AGES 7-12)

National is more than just another after school program; created with input from Police, Self-Defence, and Educational professionals, National’s children's curriculum is designed to STREET-PROOF, BULLY-PROOF and build ASSERTIVE KIDS ready to take on the challenges of life. This program is challenging mentally and physically, and builds a high standard of character. Exciting and disciplined classes increase a child’s attention span improving their ability to learn. Courage, politeness, honour and honesty are woven into the fabric of each class. Best of all, students are able to earn true self-confidence which is the greatest reward they can receive.

How Does Our Program Work?

Our instructors take students through the ranks to achieve National Training Centre's certification. Each level takes students through an area of study in self-defence. With each level achieved a student receives a crest, A students level of achievement is displayed on the left side of their pants (as shown on the right) By the time a student has been certified they will be skilled in dealing with front and rear attacks, kickboxing, ground defence, joint manipulation, control tactics, mental tactics, psychological preparation and weapons defence. Through simulated situations of what may happen on the street, National prepares you for virtually any type of assault.

HARD TARGET covers the first of five crests in the Defendo program. At the beginner's level we focus on providing the most immediate self-defence needs of the student while developing a “NEVER GIVE UP!” attitude in over coming life’s obstacles, and making them a 'HARD TARGET' for violence and crime. Our classes are energetic and fun, providing a safe environment for students starting out in self-defence training. This is a great place to develop friendships with some good kids with lots of guts!

COMBAT TECHNICIAN - Intermediate

COMBAT TECH covers the next 5 crests in our children’s program. Each crest focuses on dealing with front defence, rear defence, ground defence and combatics. This is a skills intensive level that gets into detail of technique and learning to control a more powerful attacker through the use of the concepts taught. This level builds on the foundation laid in Hard Target and builds that 'I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!' spirit through fitness and mental training.
